Ten DAP MPs to ask for a dialogue with the new EPF Chairman and the EPF Board and EPF Investment Panel during Parliamentary meeting next week on workers’ worries about EPF investments and management decisions.

The ten DAP MPs, dissatisfied with the dxplanations given by the new EPF Chairman, Tan Sri Zain Azraai, last week about EPF investments, and in particular with regard to the EPF’s $10 million loss in disposing shares to the $2 government company, MAKUWASA SECURUTIES SDN.BHD., is asking for a dialogue with the EPF Chairman, EPF Board and EPF Investment Panel. DAP calls for general elections to be help after a parliamentary debate on ‘corruption, nepotism and conflict of interest in high political places’ next week

Two national leaders, former Prime Minister, Tun Hussein Onn, and former Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Musa Hitam, have called on the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr.Mahathir Mohamed, to put an end of this period of ‘indecisiveness’ and call for general elections at once.
Tun Hussein Onn, who said that a strong opposition would be beneficial to the long-term interest of the people and nation, does not think that it would be advantageous to the Government to hold the general elections later. The Attorney-General, Tan Sri Abu Talib Othman, had acted in a most disgraceful manner in repudiating the solemn assurance given by the Penang State Legal Adviser, Shaari Yusuf, that there would be a stay of execution of the two Australians, Brian Geoffrey Chambers and John Kevin Barlow, until completion of pending court appeals. This is necessary to demand greater and more meaningful accountability of the EPF Board and the Government in the management of the $2.5 billion funds of the five million EPF contributers.
