Call on Datuk Musa Hitam to extend the Parliamentary meeting by at least two days so that justice could be done to eight Bills and three motions

According to the Parliamentary schedule, the Committee Stage of the 1986 Supply Bill will end on 5th December with the last Ministry, the Ministry of National and Rural Development. This leaves one final Parliamentary sitting on December 6, 1985, although there are eight Government Bills and three motions to be dealt with. I cannot agree with the comments of the Speaker of Dewan Rakyat, Tan Sri Zahir Ismail, that a substantive motion to challenge the ruling of the Speaker or Deputy Speaker can only be given priority if moved by Minister, Deputy Minister or a Parliamentary Secretary. On behalf of the DAP, I have today send condolence messages to the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Mohamed Amin Osman, for the four policeman killed in the Baling tragedy on Monday, and asking him to extend the DAP’s condolences also to the families of the bereaved families.
