Call on people of Malacca to visit Bukit China on July 8 as a massive demonstration of public opposition to government plan to level and develop Bukit China

The Malacca State Government’s intention to level and develop Bukit China so as to use the earth to reclaim the sea and turn the area into a housing and commercial complex must be opposed so that the Malacca State Government drop the idea completely, without asking taking further action. DAP calls for the establishment of a University in Malacca, and for a 1990-objective of one-university for every State
In justifying the 70 million people new population policy of the government as announced in the mid-term review of the Fourth Malaysia Plan, the Minister of Information, Datuk Seri Adib Adam, said that the nation’s most important asset is its people and its natural resources.

On 1st June, the MCA Presidential Council met to discuss the possibility of early general elections being held. This is most unusual, for the present life of Parliament is not even at the half-way mark, and the MCA ha never in the past been in the practice of alerting the public about the possibility of early general elections. Following the complaint in the News Straits Times Actionline of 31.5.1984 that a non-Malay Std. Four pupil in a school in Jalan Peel, Kuala Lumpur, had been forced to learn Jawi, and the comment by the Deputy Director of Education in FT, Zainal Abidin Haji Bahaudin that Jawi was now a compulsory subject for all pupils as it is part of Bahasa Malaysia subject, the Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Tan Tiong Hong and the Director-General of Education, Tan Sri Murad Mohd. DAP greatly disappointed by the failure of MCA, Gerakan, MIC and SUPP Ministers and MP to publicity declare their objections the Malaysian-Indonesian agreement to legalize illegal Indonesian immigrants.
Last Sunday, at the DAP Malacca Socialist Youth seminar on the Problems and Prospects of Malaysia in the 1990s, I challenged MCA, Gerakan, SUPP and MIC Ministers and MPs to declare within 48 hours whether they dared to join DAP MPs in the July 16 meeting of Parliament to move a joint motion objecting to the Malaysia-Indonesian agreement to legalise illegal Indonesian immigrants.
