MCA leaders most disappointing for they dare not even ask the Prime Minister for the rotation of the senior cabinet positions of Finance, Home Affairs, Education, International Trade, Defence and even the post of Deputy Prime Minister among the main communities.

In the last three years, the Barisan Nasional Government has been more liberal in certain educational and economic measures, but this is not because of the MCA or Gerakan, but the result of the struggle of the DAP and support of the people for more just, fair and equal policies for a multi-racial, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural Malaysian nation. I commend former judge Tan Sri Datuk Chang Min Tat for his letter to a local newspaper complaining about the treatment he received from the Penang JPJ when he went to renew his driving licence in December 1993. Tan Gim Hwa should explain why the MPPP awarded the architectural design for the RM50 million Relau Indoor Stadium without open competition which is a violation of the rules of the Malaysian Institute of Architects.

Three weeks ago, MPPP President Datuk Tan Gim Hwa said that the MPPP had appointed a team of consultants to prepare the building and engineering plans for the RM50 million indoor stadium at Relau, and that the plans were expected to be completed in one or two months time and tenders would be called.
