MCA Deputy president Datuk Lee Kim Sai said yesterday there is no need for any further discussion on the question of the MCA’s greatest concession in 42 years and said that it is better to do ‘practical work’. At my press conference yesterday, I was asked to comment on the MCA leaders attacks that the DAP leaders are not fit to talk about Chinese education issues, and their claim that the MCA Constitution is better than the DAP Constitution with regard to mother – tongue education. I am surprised and shocked by the statement by the President of the 15 Chinese organizations and the Selangor Chinese Aseembly Hall accusing the DAP of ‘wasting its time on impractical matter’ in our current controversy with the MCA leadership over the greatest MCA concession in the 42-year MCA history on the constitutional status and guarantee of Chinese primary schools. Kim Sai’s fourth clarification has confirmed that that the MCA’s latest policy stand is that there is constitutional guarantee only for the study of Chinese as a language, but not for Chinese primary schools using Chinese as a medium of instruction
