DAP letter officially sent to Datuk Lee San Choon, Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui and Datuk Samy Vellu to invite all MCA, Gerakan, SUPP and MIC, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Parliamentary Secretaries and MPs to join with all DAP MPs to move a motion in Parliamnet to condemn UMNO Youth Leader, Haji Suhaimi Kamaruddin, for extremist and chauvinist speeches seriously undermining national unity.

I have officially written to datuk Lee San Choon, Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, Tan sri Ong Kee Hui and Datuk Samy Vellu to propose that all MCA, Gerakan, SUPP and MIC ministers, Deputy Minister, Parliamentary secretaries and MPs join with all DAP MPs to jointly sponsor a motion in the next meeting for Parliament to condemn UMNO youth President, Haji Suhaimi Kamaruddin, for this extremist and chauvinist speeches at UMNO Youth General Assemblies which seriously undermine national unity. The Minister without Portforlio in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Mohamed Nasir, told a dialogue of kadi-kadi, penghulu-penghulu and Religious Department officials in Johor Bahru two nights ago that the Government has set up a committee to introduce new laws which would enable non-Muslims involved in khalwat with Muslim women to be punished. In the last general elections, the first edition of 10,000 copies of ‘Time Bombs in Malaysia’ was sold out in the short space of about less than three weeks. We have now published the second edition of ‘Time Bombs in Malaysia’ which is 410 pages instead of the 350 pages of the first edition. The second edition contains a few more parliamentary speeches, more illustrations and a Special Commentary on the 1978 general elections. The Conference is held on Wednesday, 14th Sept. 1977 at 12 p.m.

DAP Launches Nation-Wide Mass Signature Campaign to Remove the 14-Year-Old Condemned from the Death Cell

This Press Conference has been called to officially launch the nation-wide mass signature campaign to remove the 14-year-old condemned from the death cell in Penang Prisons to a Juvenile Centre, pending appeal.

I have with me the parents of the condemned boy, Mr. and Mrs. Lim Thuan Heng, the counsel for the boy, Sdr. Karpal Singh, who as DAP State Assemblyman for Alor Star is also Vice Chairman of this Campaign, Sdr. P. Pattoo, DAP National Organising Secretary and National Secretary of this campaign, and Sdr.
