The United Nations High Commissioner for Refuges (UNHCR) report that the people living in areas controlled by the Bosnian government are getting much less food aid that those in Croat and Serb held areas is most scandalous and outrageous. The world is disappointed by the outcome of the summit meeting of NATO leaders in Brussels yesterday which continued to issue empty threats of air strikes against Bosnia’s Serbs to end the one sided slaughter and genocide of Bosnian Muslims. I agree with Mahathir that there can be no unlimited freedom in Malaysia but he is wrong when he claims that Malaysia has a good record on democracy and human rights

At the Gerakan annual general meeting last weekend, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed said Malaysia would avoid practicing democracy in its absolute sense and that unlimited freedom was dangerous as riots could easily take place in the country’s plural society.
