DAP not satisfied with Tun Tan Siew Sin’s denial that a foreigner is directing Alliance and MCA elections operations

Statement by DAP Organising Secretary and Parliamentary Candidate for Bandar Melaka, Mr. Lim Kit Siang, on 3rd May 1969:

The DAP, and the majority of Malaysians, will not be satisfied with Tun Tan Siew Sin’s weak and flat denial that a foreigner, Mr. Wu Ling Yu, is directing Alliance and MCA general elections campaign.

Tun Tan Siew Sin’s statement that Mr. Wu is not a CIA agent is also not convincing. Just because the Sunday Mail carried a report of Mr. Wu Ling Yu some months back is not proof that Mr. Wu is not a CIA agent. Nobody expects Mr. Wu to confess or declare that he is a CIA agent to newspaper interviews.

I have asked Tun Tan eight questions, but he is unable to answer a single one of them.

This is because neither Tun Tan, nor any Alliance leader, can deny that in September 1967, Malaysia joined in convening and establishing the CIA-sponsored World Anti-Communist League is that every League member nation should accept into its country so-called ‘anti-communist’ experts, with the intention to direct, supervise and overseer its foreign policy, political, cultural and economic decisions. Celebrate May Day

Speech by DAP Organising Secretary and Parliamentary Candidate for Bandar Melaka, Mr. Lim Kit Siang, at a tea party at Malacca DAP Branch, 103 Jalan Ujong Pasir, on 1st May, at 5.30p.m. to celebrate 1969 MAY DAY:

The DAP is a democratic socialist party, which seeks to end the exploitation of man by man and class by class. From the very first day of our formation, the DAP had fought for a better deal for workers.

In fact, one of the objects of the DAP, as spelt out in the DAP Constitution, states: “to abolish the injust inequalities of wealth and opportunities in the present system; to establish an economic order which will give all citizens the right to work and full economic returns for their labour and skill; to ensure decent living, and social security to all those who through sickness, infirmity or old age can no longer work.”

This was why the DAP Labour Bureau was formed to make a positive contribution towards the solution of labour problems in Malaysia.

The refusal of the alliance government to recognize MAY DAY as a national public holiday is proof of the anti-labour character of the Alliance. In progressive and enlightened countries, workers take a day off to rejoice at the dignity of labour, and to rededicate themselves to the noble task of labour and national construction. But in Malaysia, workers are not treated as equals. They are treated as slaves of Alliance feudal-compradore system.

Challenge to Mr. Koh Kim Leng to prove what he has done in the last ten years for the people and State of Malacca when he was Senator

Speech by Dap Organising Secretary and Parliamentary Candidate for Bandar Melaka, Mr. Lim Kit Siang, at the 9th DAP Public Rally at Lorong Panjang, Malacca on 1st May 1969 at 9.30p.m.;

Before Nomination Day of Ma April 5, the majority of the people of Malacca do not know who is Mr. Koh Kim Leng. Those who know who is Mr. Koh Kim Leng invariably have the most unfavorable opinion of him, because they regard him arrogant, aloof and a society lawyer.

But this is shocking, because Mr. Koh Kim Leng had been a Senator for Malacca for the last ten years.

What had Mr. Koh Kim Leng done to serve the people in the last ten years when he represented the people of Malacca in the Senate? Had he ever come down to the level of the ordinary people, speak to them, find out their problems, try to help them? In fact, the people of Malacca tell me Mr. Koh Kim Leng was never seen in town. Even in the Senate, he is one of the ‘sleepiest’ Senators, who hardly utter a word in the Senate.

For the last ten years, Mr. Koh Kim Leng had been paid his allowance as a senator. This easily exceeds $100,000 over the last 10 years.

Statement by DAP Organising Secretary and Parliamentary Candidate for Bandar Melaka, Mr. Lim Kit Siang, on 1st May 1969:

Tun Razak and Tun Tan Siew Sin denied that a foreigner is directing Alliance and MCA general elections propaganda campaign. He wants me to name him.

The foreigner is Mr. Wu Ling Yu, self-acclaimed “expert on anti-communist tactics and strategies for 20 years.

I challenge Tun Razak and Tun Tan Siew Sin to answer the following eight questions: Continue reading Lim Kit Siang names foreigner directing alliance and MCA general elections propaganda campaign
