Deputy Home Minister, Datuk Megat Junid Ayob, said in Sintok yesterday that the government had banned the 4th July issue of the Far Eastern Economic Review (FEER) because it contained materials which would undermine national security. In the latest issue of Watan (3rd July), the Gerakan National Publicity Bureau Chief and Exco Member, Dr. Kang Chin Seng, challenged the DAP to establish an inquiry into the allegation by the three Barisan Nasional ‘doctors’ that DAP Assemblyman for Mak Mandin, Lim Hock Seng, had abused his position as an elected representative for his direct pecuniary interest. The director-general of the Anti-Corruption Agency, Haji Zulkifli Mahmood, said yesterday that the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA?) had begun investigations into allegations of malpractices in the construction of the ammunition depot in the $71 million Masjid Tanah ammunition depot scandal. I am glad that the Defence Minister, Datuk Najib Tun Razak, had responded to my demand that he should reveal the name of the important UMNO leader who, apart from Abdullah Ang of the prison ‘water-bed’ fame, who was responsible for the $71 million Masjid Tanah ammunition depot scandal. Two days ago, the Deputy National Unity and Social Development Minister, Datuk Alex Lee, said that the Home Ministry had set up a committee to study the thousands of official forms and documents to identify which one could drop the classification of Malaysians by race.
