Call on ACA to set up a Special General Elections Audit Team to cost all expenditures by political parties and candidates in the next general elections to ensure that they do not commit corrupt practices by violating the legal limits on election expenses

The Anti-Curruption Agency Director-General. Shafee Yahya said three days ago that the ACA would monitor all political parties to ensure that there is no corrupt practice or vote-buying in the next general elections. If parliament has to pass laws to impose mandatory minimum RM 2000 fine for non-payment of 50-sen toll, will it next be asked to pass similar laws for default payment of electricity and telephone bills?

I commend the DAP Federal Territory State Committee for deciding to organize a mass signature campaign on protest against the government attempt to pass the Federal Roads (private Managemnet )( amendent ) Bill 1993 which will impose a mandatory minimum fine of RM 2000 and a maximum of RM 5000 – for non-paymnet of 50 sen toll for roads and brigdes. Is Tsu koon advocating that Penang practice facadism as replacement of heritage building conservation – where the façade of Hotel Metropole need not be kept at the original site and could be moved and preserved in a museum?

Pennag Chief Minister , Dr. Koh Tsu Koon should explain how he could justify the MPPP decision last Oct 28 to surreptitiously remove Hotel Metropole from the 1989 MPPP list of 20 heritahe buildings which prohibited demolition or development , and plced in a new Category 2 List which allowed its demolition and redevelopment provided its façade is preserved.
