The statement by the MCA President, Datuk Dr. Ling Liong Sik, after the MCA Presidential Council meeting yesterday calling on the Chinese community to support the MCA and to reject the DAP is a desperate attempt to hide MCA failure to oppose land acquisition abuses and injustices and to ensure that the Barisan Nasional Government is ‘liberal’ enough to register Dong Zhao Zhong’s proposed New Era College. MPPP president , Datuk Tan Gim Hwa , said yeaterday that there is no law to prevent anyone from demolishing a heritage to take action under the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 for demolishing without planning approval and serving a notice for the rebuilding of the demolished building. In the 1990 general elections , DAP won four Parliamentary and 13 State Assembly seats in Perak. If the next general elections is going to be the worst general elections for the DAP – and even worse than the 1982 general elections results – as being forecast by the MCA and political analysts, then the DAP will lose all its four Parliamentary seats in Perak when Parliament is dissolved any time after June this year.
