The three Barisan Nasional ‘doctors’, namely Penang Chief Minister, Dr.Koh Tsu Koon, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr.Ibrahim Saad and Gerakan Exco member, Dr.Kang Chin Seng, have now realised they have made a fool of themselves on the Lim Hock Seng issue have embarrassed not only themselves, but the State Government and Barisan Nasional parties. Parliamentary opposition Leader, DAP Secretary-General and MP for Tanjung, Lim Kit Siang, last night called on the Finance Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, to invoke his powers for the first time under Section 102 of the Securities Industry Act 1983 to direct the Registrar of Companies to investigate into the $3-$5 million shares scam involving illegal shares dealing in Tampin.

Mr.Lim said that what has happened in a small town like Tampin, where some 100 small invertors may have lost $3 to $5 million from the shares scam involving illegal shares dealing, could the the tin of a national icebero which could amount to hundreds of millions of ringgit. I am astounded to read in the press today of a statement by the Selangor Mentri Besar, Tan Sri Muhammed Haji Muhammad Taib, after chairing the Selangor State Executive Council meeting yesterday that the State Government ‘was not aware of such a factory in Sungai Buloh’ when referring to the Sungai Buloh fireworks factory explosion disaster causing 100 dead or injured and destruction of numerous houses in Sungai Buloh new village.
