What is Gerakan’s stand and role in the UMNO proposal that MCA leave Barisan Nasional until resolution of MCA crisis.

Two nights ago, four major Chinese organisations in Selangor met in Kuala Lumpur to discuss the possibility of MCA being asked to leave Barisan Nasional and its after-effects on the Chinese community. There was also a proposal to take a common public stand declaring that if MCA leave Barisan Nasional, it would not result in a political vacuum which would be disadvantageous to the Chinese community. The latest campaign to character-assassinate me is now in full swing

The latest campaign to character-assassinate me is now in full swing. Before every general elections, there would be a campaign to try to destroy the DAP to undermine its election chances, either by formenting party disunity or by trying to destroy the image, reputation and credibility of DAP leaders.

Before the 1978 general elections, I was accused of being a Special Branch agent. The DAP, whether at the national, state or local level, cannot wait for the Barisan Nasional component parties to make more political mistakes or to get involve in more scandals to antagonise and alienate the people, but must actively create political conditions for the people to realise the importance of taking a stand against Barisan Nasional politics in the coming general elections.
