In the last three days, the MCA national leaders, from its President. Datuk Dr. Ling Liong Sik, downwards had been very busy denying that following the speech by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, at the Tunku Abdul Rahman College convocation last Saturday, TAR College would change its student recruitment policy or that it would introduce a quota system for non-Chinese students. It is most disgraceful and dishonourable that the MCA leadership dare not tell Dr. Mahathir in Cabinet and Government the reasons why non-Chinese students do not want to study in TAR, but dare only do so in Chinese newspapers

All Chinese and Tamil primary school pupils who pass the UPSR national school Bahasa Malaysia paper should be exempted from Remove Class and promoted directly to From One if they get passes in other subjects

The Education Ministry has announced that Chinese and Tamil primary school Std.IV pupils can now opt to sit for the Bahasa Malaysia paper offered in the national schools (SK/SRK) in the Primary School Achievement Test (UPSR).
