DAP welcomes Registrar of Companies warning on the law of prospectus and calls on all purchases of holdings shares from companies which have no prospectus to report to the Registrar or any DAP official protect their investment

I welcome the warning by the Registrar of Companies, Encik Zulkifli bin Mahmood, on the law of prospectus requiring every application form of shares to be accompanied by a prospectus to protect the public from being swindled, and his advice to the public to be wary when subscribing for shares. In June when announcing revision of allowances for Ministers, Members of Parliament, Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers and State Assemblymen, the Finance Minister, Tengku Razaleigh said that with effect from July 1, 1980 State Executive Councilors would become full-time under the new system so that Exco members could not take part in business or professional activities. From now on, State Committees must play an active and leading role for all party tasks in the State, and the Central Executive Committee will hold the State Committees responsible for all aspects of the Party’s programmes and projects in the state, e.g. in fulfilling sales targets for the Rockets, in upgrading the organization of branches, or in meeting the various political tasks set by the Party leadership from time to time. We are asked to approve another batch of supplementary estimates for 1979 and 1980 for supply and development purposes:

2. 1979 Fourth Supplementary Development estimates $ 82,178,795
3. 1980 first supplementary supply estimates $272,208,456
4. 1980 first supplementary development estimates $404,391,422
