DAP to send a memorandum of protest to President Suharto of Indonesia to urge him to co-operate to stop the influx of illegal Indonesian immigrants into Malaysia and end the carnage and crimes committed by the illegals

This is the sixth protest demonstration held by the DAP since the launching of the month-long protest campaign in Johore on Sunday against the illegal Indonesian immigrants in the country, threatening the life, home, property and rights of Malaysians. Johore Planters Association should not sacrifice national interests and the future of Malaysians and generations to come just to make profits from exploitation of illegal Indonesia immigrants.

Johore Planters Association should not sacrifice national interests and the future of Malaysians and generations to come just to make profits from exploitation of illegal Indonesia immigrants.

It is most shocking that while Malaysians throughout the country are calling on the government to take firm action to end the grace problem of the million-odd illegal Indonesia immigrants in the country, and the threat they pose to the lives, property and rights of Malaysians, the Johore Planters Association should come out calling for the granting of expatriate status to the illegals to legalise their stay. A few days ago, Education Minister, Anwar Ibrahim, announced the revival of the spirit of the previous National Language Month campaign, with the launching of the “Love Our Language Campaign” on December by the Prime Minister, DATUK Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed. He said the objective of the “Love Our Language Campaign” is to promote Bahasa Malaysia as the language of communication and national unity in Malaysia. On Monday, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, called for end to “irresponsible allegations”, such as those claiming the Christians ere trying to convert Malays, because such talk could lead to dispute which could be extremely dangerous in a multi-racial and multi-religious country like Malaysia.
