Energy, Telecommunications and Posts Minister, Datuk Leo Moggie, confirmed yesterday that Telekom Malaysia Bhd.’s proposed new tariff rates for international and trunk calls are expected to be reduced while local calls will be charged according to the length of time used. Congratulations to Tan Ghim Hwa on his appointment as MPPP President. The Penang MCA and Penang MCA Youth have publicly declared their opposition to the appointment of Tan Ghim Hwa as unsuitable and improper. The DAP, however, has no objection to the appointment of anyone provided he could ‘clean up’ the MPPP and ends its ‘decadence and impotence’ as publicly admitted by the Gerakan President, Datuk Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, last December.
