DAP welcome cabinet decision to give a 4-cent-a-unit subsidy to private electric companies and hopes that immediate action will be taken to restore power supplies in Paloh and Chalah

The Minister for Public Works and Utilities, Datuk Haji Abdul Ghani Gilong, announced in Raub yesterday that the government has agreed to give a subsidy of four cents a unit to all public licensees of power supply. The unauthorised higher bus fare by Sri Jaya a open defiance of the government: DAP wants immediate action

The increase in bus fares by Sri Jaya bus company in PJ and Kuala Lumpur is an open defiance of the government, and if stern and immediate action is not taken, similar defiant actions will be taken by bus companies throughout the country – causing untold hardships and in-convenience to low-income commuters and school children.

DAP wants an urgent Master Plan to revolutionise public transportation and provide fast, efficient and cheap bus services throughout the country

The DAP Consumers and Environment Protection Bureau is a new DAP bureau to specially concentrate on consumer and environmental protection. The Party expects the DAP Consumers and Environmental Protection Bureau to complement the efforts of consumer and environmental protection bodies in the country. DAP calls on ASEAN governments to change their laws to respect and promote human rights in the region.

The time has come for the DAP at state and branch levels to prepare more systematically for the next general elections, which is not too far away.

The task of the Federal Territory/ Selangor Elections Preparations Committee will be to propose targets for the next general elections, and to execute plans at both the state and branch levels to reach these election targets.
