Imposition of NOC-type of rule in Kelantan a subversion of the democratic basis of the Malaysian Constitution and DAP calls for general elections in Kelantan to return the mandate to the People of Kelantan.

1978 an election budget which gives out sweets to well-off, but which the poor will have to pay for after elections

Everyone had expected an election budget, and true to expectations, the 1978 Budget that was presented last Friday was an election Budget. The trouble with an election budget, which gives out sweets, is that after elections, not only are the sweets taken away, but even more bitter pills are administered to pay for the pre-election sweets. 1974: An Eventful Year

1974: An Eventful Year

1974 had been an eventful year for the DAP. We fought the 1974 general elections and emerged as virtually the only Opposition in West Malaysia. In Malacca, we are the sole Opposition, and although we have only four Assemblymen in an Assembly of 20, we have proved that we are capable of speaking up for the hopes and fears of the people. The Malacca State Assembly will be very lively for the next five years, and we hope that the Malacca State Assembly will be convened regularly so that it can perform its function and role as the highest legislative chamber and forum in the Malacca State.
