Four DAP Federal Territory highly commended for defeating the Federal Roads ( Private Management ) ( Amendment) Bill which wants to impose a mandatory minimum fine of RM 2,000 for non-payment of private toll for roads or bridges

I want to commend the four DAP Federal Territory MPs, Sdr. Liew Ah Kim ( Siputeh) , Sdr. Tan Seng Giaw(Kepong), Sdr. Wee Choo Keng(Bukit Bintang) and Sdr. Tan Kok Wai( Sungai Besi) – for defeating in Parliament last month the Federal Roads minimum fine at RM 2,000 for non-payment of toll on roads or bridges by the private sector. I stand by my statements in Parliament about two ‘penulis pelacur’ and am prepared to meet officials of Persatuan Wartawan Melayu Malaysia to explain why the question of public apology on my part does not arise at all

The President of Persatuan Wartawan Melayu Malaysia (PWM), Yazid Haji Pthman, issued a statement two days ago demanding a public apology from me for calling two group editors as ‘penulis pelacur’ and ‘penulis najis’ in Parliament and an undertaking that I would not repeat them in future. The question whether Ghafar still commands the confidence of Parliament, in particular the majority of UMNO MPs, must be decided before Parliament adjourns today or Ghafar Baba will become a ‘lame duck’ Deputy Prime Minister for the next four months

The question whether Ghafar still commands the confidence of Parliament, in particular the majority of UMNO MPs, must be decided before Parliament adjourns today or Ghafar Baba will become a ‘lame duck’ Deputy Prime Minister for the next four months

The first was the Constitution Amendment Bill (No.3) 1993 where the Federal Constitution was amended just to allow 75-year-old Tun Mustapha to become Federal Minister for Sabah Affairs without having to resign his Usukan Sabah State Assembly seat as UMNO Baru is afraid of losing in the resulting by election. The Minister for Housing and Local Government, Dr. Ting Chew Peh, in his winding-up speech on the Sewerage Services Bill last Monday claimed that privatisation is the best option toi resolve the problem of sewerage services in the country, as proved by the success in the privatisation that had been implemented like projects on the construction of the North-South Highway, Telekom, MAS and others.
