On Sunday, the Selangor Mentri Besar, Tan Sri Mohamed Taib, stressed that the Selangor Islamic Law Administration (SILAE) would not amended and that Section 67 and 70 which violate the fundamental parental rights of non-Muslims to the unfettered custody, guardianship and control of their children and their freedom of religion would not be amended. DAP praises MCA Presidential Council for vetoing the MCA booklet ‘The Truth is Out’ on the KSM-MPHB Investment Fund scandal, for it would be more appropriately entitled ‘The Lies are Out’

I commend the MCA Presidential Council for again overruling the MCA President, Datuk Dr. Limg Liong Sik, by vetoing the release of the 50,000 copies of the MCA booklet, ‘The Truth is Out’, prepared by the MCA Central Publicity Bureau purportedly to justify Liong Sik’s stand on the KSM-MPHB Investment Fund scandal. Dr. Lim Keng Yaik should clarify whether he had demanded Vijandran’s resignation as Deputy Speaker at yesterday’s Cabinet meeting and was outvoted, or whether he never raised the issue at all

Dr. Lim Keng Yaik should clarify whether he had demanded Vijandran’s resignation as Deputy Speaker at yesterday’s Cabinet meeting and was outvoted, or whether he never raised the issue at all

Malaysians were waiting for the outcome of the Cabinet meeting yesterday for news about the resignation of D.P. Vijandran as Deputy Speaker. Before the Cabinet meeting yesterday, Gerakan had sent out news (which became the front-page headline news of several Chinese newspaper) that the Gerakan Minister, Datuk Dr. Lim Keng Yaik, had been directed by the Gerakan Central Committee to demand for the resignation of the D.P. Vijandran as Deputy Speaker at the Cabinet meeting.
