Beware of the Barisan and MCA stepped-up campaign to discredit and destroy the DAP through a organised and systematic campaign of smear, lies and malice

Beware of the Barisan and MCA stepped-up campaign to discredit and destroy the DAP through a organised and systematic campaign of smear, lies and malice

I had hope that after the Party Annual Conference in Seremban on Dec, 21, the Party will be able to get on with its work to rebuild itself in conjunction with the Party’s 15th Anniversary along lines designed by the Central Executive Committee since the Cameron Highlands Meeting in August 1980, to infuse the Party and the party leaders and member with a new sense of purpose, and to prepare for the next general elections which could be held within 18 to 24 months. DAP calls for government to set up a special Task Force III to check and control the inflow over 100,000 illegal Indonesia immigration into Johore

A few years ago, when Vietnamese in their hundreds of thousand sought escape from Vietnam, resulting in large numbers of them landing on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, the Government set up a Special Task Force III (‘Vietnamese Illegal Immigrants’) to deal with the problem. Malaysians still can remember the announcement at one stage by the Deputy Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamed, that if any more Vietnamese refugees land in Malaysia without proper international resettlement arrangements, then Malaysia will adopt the policy ‘shoot to kill’. Call on PJ municipality to stop harassing the hawkers at PJ New Town and to allow them a peaceful Chinese New Year hawking period

Call on PJ municipality to stop harassing the hawkers at PJ New Town and to allow them a peaceful Chinese New Year hawking period

The PJ municipality has recently launched a campaign against the hawkers at the PJ New Town, issuing them with summonses involving compound fines to be paid by the hawkers.

The PJ municipality should immediately stop harassing the PJ New Town hawkers, as hawking is a Malaysian way of life, which keeps down cost of living, and also provide a decent and honest means of livelihood to the people. This will also ensure that the hawkers have a peaceful Chinese New Year hawkering period.

The PJ municipality should set the lead to other town and municipal authorities in approaching the hawker problem as a socio-economic problem, and not from the stand-point of harassment or punitive approach involving summonses, compound fines, etc.

Project 1983 in Penang will depend on the emergence of a discipline, united and cohesive DAP in Penang

The DAP’s narrow defeat in the Pengkalan Kota by-election, and the events preceding and following the by-election, should be a costly lesson to the DAP, particularly in Penang, of the harm we can inflict on ourselves when we allow our internal difference and problems to run riot, in utter disregard of Party interests.
