Last week, a 19 year old youth in Pekan Nenas was killed by illegal Indonesia immigrants, the latest in a long list of victims of illegal Indonesia immigrants in Malaysia. Two days ago, Deputy Prime Minister, Ghaffar Baba, expressed concern at the worsening ethnic relations in the university campuses and announced that he would meet vice chancellors of local universities to discuss racial polarization among undergraduates. I met the Registrar of Companies, Incik Zulkifli Mahmood , for 1.1/2 hours yesterday to brief him of the gross violations of the Companies Act 1965 where several MCA-sponsored state holdings companies with $2 or $3 paid capital are collecting tens of millions of dollars of public money as subscription to it shares, in open violation of the law in without having a prospectus registered with the Registry of Companies. Deputy Land and Regional Development Minister, Datuk Haji Khalid Yunus, said in Butterworth yesterday that Felda settlers should “think deeply” before joining the DAP.
