Datuk Seri Dr.Mahathir Mohamed deferred the Parliamentary meeting of July 14 to avoid answering DAP questions about the indefensible Barisan Nasional actions about unlawful assembly charges for the Sabah March criminals as well as about UMBC scandal, EPF scandal and the billion-dollar mysterious tin-buying scandal

Parliamentary was to meet for two weeks beginning from Monday, July 14 till July 25, but suddenly, for the first time in Parliamentary history, the first week of the two-week parliamentary meeting was cancelled. DAP calls on Attorney- General, Tan Sri Abu Talib, to explain what his Chambers have decided on the recommendations for criminal actions made by the Ahmad Nordin Inquiry Committee.

The opening of the extradition hearing in the Bow Street magistrate’s Court in London on 85 criminal charges against Lorraine Osman and Hashim Shamsuddin in connection with the BMF scandal should put Malaysians in shame. Present may be the ‘calm before the storm’ and the DAP cannot exclude the possibility of general elections being held after Hari Raya Puasa at end of June or early July.

In the last month, there is increasing speculation that the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamed, will be going for the full term into next year. Such speculation had seemingly been reinforced by two recent events: winning a comfortable two-third majority and the appointment of Ghaffar Baba as Deputy Prime Minister.
