Yesterday, at about 2 p.m., I received a telegram in Malacca from Batang Berjuntai which read: “Hindu Temple Demolished. Please Take Action. Rukunegara Died. Committee Kuil. Batang Berjuntai”. Last month, when I addressed the Perak DAP State Sub-Committee on August 28, I expressed the general growing concern that the standards in the Medical Faculty in the University of Malaya, which had a high international reputation when it first started, had been suffering serious erosion of standards. The purpose of an Industrial Court is to be able to deal with industrial disputes expeditiously, without the formal trappings of Court procedures, for the maxim ‘justice delayed is justice denied’ is even more pertinent in industrial disputed affecting questions like reinstatement. Corruption has become rifer with the passing years. The NBI has proved to be an ineffective instrument to fight corruption at all levels of government, and from all sectors of public life.

The first issue of Rocket (English) has been published, and it is now the responsibility of every State sub-committee and branch to push maximum sales of the Rocket in their respective states – for this is seeding the minds of Malaysians for the next general elections.

There must be a sense of urgency in getting party literature out into the streets and homes of the public. We must not allow party literature to stack up in our offices and branches.
