Politics of Leisure and Laziness is not the Politics of DAP

The DAP has brought into Malaysian politics a style which is marked by dynamism, activism and action. We have always been in the forefront in the championing of the rights of the people, and to fight injustices and wrongs perpertrated by the authorities that be.

The Politics of Leisure and Laziness is not the Politics of the DAP. It is vital and imperative that all DAP leaders and members should maintain the DAP style of politics. Continue reading Politics of Leisure and Laziness is not the Politics of DAP

At the request of the parents of the 14-year-old condemned DAP to await outcome of Privy Council appeal before launching a national signature campaign and international sympathy campaign to commute death sentence of the boy to a few years in a Reform School so as not to prejudge the Privy Council appeal

This is the third Press Conference that I have called in connection with the 14-year-old condemned, the first one on 10th September 1977 in Penang announcing the intention of the DAP to start a mass nation-wide signature campaign to get the boy out of the death cell in Penang Prisons pending appeal; the second one on 14th Sept. 1977 in Kuala Lumpur announcing the official launching of the mass nation-wide signature campaign to get the condemned boy out of the death cell. The response from the Government had been rapid, for the condemned boy was taken out of the death cell after the launching of the campaign on Sept. 14. Saudara-Saudara, Saudari-Saudari

The first issue of Rocket (English) has been published, and it is now the responsibility of every State sub-committee and branch to push maximum sales of the Rocket in their respective states – for this is seeding the minds of Malaysians for the next general elections.

There must be a sense of urgency in getting party literature out into the streets and homes of the public. We must not allow party literature to stack up in our offices and branches.

The October issue of the Rocket will be published in two weeks’ time, so the target date for the disposal of all the Sept. English Rocket should be just two weeks. Continue reading From the SG’s Desk

Saudara-saudara dan saudari-saudari,

The first issue of the English Rocket journal for 1977 will appear by the latest in the first week of September. After that, we English Rocket will appear monthly on time. Sdr. P. Pattoo will be responsible to see that this is done.

Rockets in other languages cannot yet be published as the Home Affairs Ministry permit for them have not been issued.

The planning and production of Rocket journals and other publicity and political materials is only the first half of the challenge of making a breakthrough to communicate with the people of Malaysia. The other half is that of dissemination, to ensure that every copy of publication issued by the Headquaters is given out to the rakyat to read. At this juncture, it will be an inexcusable waste of effort and resources if party liaterature are allowed to gather dust. Continue reading From the SG’s Desk
