Call on Malaysian Government to immediately grant provisional registration to some 50 Malaysian graduates from medical colleges in India and Taiwan so that they can work as housemen in Malaysian hospitals

There are now some 50 Malaysian graduates of Indian and Taiwan medical colleges who have been denied provisional registration and cannot begin their housemanship. The Ministry of Health claims that they come from Unscheduled Medical Colleges, and have therefore to sit for Qualifying Examination for Doctors set by the Ministry of Health, before they are permitted provisional registration to enable to do their housemanship. In three weeks time, our comrades Sdr. Chain Heng Kai and Sdr. Chan Kok Kit would have served their full year of detention without trial, matyrs to the cause of the DAP and the people of Malaysia.

The British Labour Party, at its recent annual conference, has passed a resolution demanding the abolition of the House of Lords.

Malaysians must also be thinking as to whether the Senate, the Upper House of Parliament. is serving any useful purpose or whether it should be scrapped. Last week, Radio and Television Malaysia gave prominent time to a report that President Carter had described Malaysia as a “model for human rights for other countries.”
